When Amazon put out the call for a city to house its second headquarters, KC needed a way to stand out from its bigger, better funded, coastal competitors. So we hacked the thing Amazon holds most dear – their product review system – incorporating Kansas City selling points into verified reviews for over 1,000 Amazon products. All we needed to pull it off was a charismatic mayor, an order for 1,000 items, and a whole lot of reviews.

And for all our review writing efforts, we wound up with over 1,600 media stories, 150 million earned impressions, and over $2 million dollars in earned media value.
